Hi! My name is Kalina (Jane Chen) Silverman. I am from Santa Monica, California, and travel often for documentary journalism, research, modeling, speaking, and public relations projects. I care about creating ideas and telling stories that help broaden global and intercultural understanding. Recently, I worked in Singapore as a Fulbright Program Research Scholar, studying "Bridging East-West Communications through Big Talk." During my time at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, I worked on documentary films in Ecuador and Germany about education and the Holocaust. In 2012 I founded MIXED and in 2014, I created BIG TALK. Passionate about music and the arts, I am interested in work on projects that bridge cultures through the use of education, art/music, and journalistic storytelling. During free time I like to stay active (dancing, swimming, hiking, yoga, and tennis), adventurous, and creative (working in my art journal, songwriting, and playing the piano).
