Hello! My name is Kalina Jane Chen Silverman. I am originally from Santa Monica, California, and travel often. Right now, I am working in Singapore as a Fulbright Program Research Scholar at the National University of Singapore. My research project is about "How to Bridge East-West Communications through Big Talk."

I care about telling stories and creating ideas that help build global understanding between people of different backgrounds. In seeing this vision through, in 2012 I founded MIXED and in 2014, I created BIG TALK.

During my time at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, I worked on documentary films in Ecuador and Germany. I also work as a model and host in Los Angeles, and am interested in further opportunities to work internationally and cross culturally in the media and journalism space.

I am interested in collaborating with people on projects that bridge cultures through the use of education, art/music, and journalistic storytelling.

During my free time I stay active (bikinghiking, dancing, swimming, rock climbing, practicing yoga, and playing tennis), adventurous, and creative (working in my art journal, singing/songwriting, and playing the piano).
